E-MOTION was founded in 2003 by Takao Baba and other dancers from the street dance scene. The aim was to establish street dance as an art form on dance and theater stages in Germany. The collective was unique in Germany and was one of the first companies in Germany to combine different street dance styles with contemporary dance. With the production '2nd ID,' the company was invited to the dance platform in 2008 in Hannover. Since then, the company has been regularly producing dance performances with various configurations.
E-MOTION aims to promote the visibility of street dance culture on dance and theater stages while setting new impulses. The artistic and choreographic engagement takes place collectively. Similar to hip-hop culture, E-MOTION strives to create new symbioses with various art and forms of expression, which also implies the further development of street dance.
